The Not Basic Engagement Gift Guide

When I got engaged, I received so many generous and thoughtful gifts from family and friends. It’s such a special time. There were definitely quite a few overlap gifts, though, so here are my favorite engagement gifts of all time, and what I give my newly engaged friends today.

A chic notebook > a wedding planning notebook. Realistically, the timeline in that book won’t add up with your friends, and everything that’s in it is already on Google. Go for something timeless like this, that they’ll want to hold onto even after their wedding passes.

An absolute staple for any bride-to-be, as far as I’m concerned. I wore my white Lele Sadoughi pearl headband for almost every event and vendor appointment.

Because when you get engaged, all you want to do is keep your new diamond sparkly. Even now, I always have one of these handy for a quick polish.

For the friend who can’t wait to be a wifey, she’ll love wearing this leading up to the big day and beyond. I can almost guarantee she’ll be wearing this on the plane ride to her honeymoon.

Personalize it with their future initials, wedding date, or engagement date.

My bridesmaids exclusively played this song for me every hour leading up to my wedding day, I think. This custom long sleeve is a must for any bride, and they’ll wear it all the time leading up to their big day.

8. HOMESICK “LETS TOAST” CANDLE, AMAZON, $34
Because, honestly, they might not have room for another bottle of Champagne, but they could definitely use a celebratory candle that smells amazing.
